Masha Noir Story
Masha’s journey as an artist began in the Soviet Union, where she attended art school until society pushed her toward a more “practical” path—computers and staging lights for events. As a Soviet refugee adapting to American life, she’s faced her share of challenges, but her art has always been her way of processing life’s twists and turns.
Masha Noir—a name that came from a playful correction: “Masha, no R, Masha noR.” Like a noir film, her life has had its shadows and surprises, but always with an eye toward the light. Driftwood has become her passion, with each piece symbolizing transformation and rebirth. Whether painting landscapes and icons, crafting jewelry, or even building temples, her art is a reflection of resilience, hope, and humor.
Masha’s work reflects the vibrant energy of life. She believes that by embracing the contrast of light and dark, life becomes much more vivid and interesting. Through her art, she hopes to share that joy and help others find their own healing.
